Boom Truck / Lift Operator

If you’re certified to operate a boom truck and lift, come to help us spread some holiday joy high in the sky all over Tampa Bay! At Decorating Elves, we build upscale holiday lighting displays that have been featured nationwide, and we’re looking for a few new elves to support our lighting installers this holiday season by operating boom trucks and lifts. Be a part of the team that’s been bringing holiday cheer to St. Petersburg and surrounding areas for almost 20 years.

This is a full-time, seasonal position and is available immediately.

Pay

Boom truck/Boom lift operators start out at $18 per hour, with raises possible based on performance.

Duties

• Safely and skillfully operate our boom trucks and lifts to hang holiday lights and decor
• Be a working operator, meaning you’ll provide hands-on assistance to lighting installers when needed
• Work with a team to efficiently complete lighting displays
• Communicate with team members frequently
• Follow all safety regulations, including COVID-19 protocols
• Help remove lighting and decor at the end of the holiday season

Requirements

• Must be certified to operate both boom trucks and boom lifts (NCCCO certification is highly preferred)
• Have a clean driving record
• No outdoor lighting experience is required! We train!
• Be 18 years of age or older
• Have reliable transportation to and from different job locations (bikes and public transportation are okay!)
• Be able to pass a drug screen
• Be on time!
• Be ambitious and motivated
• Have a willingness to learn
• Have a positive attitude and be able to take criticism/instruction
• Have good personal hygiene skills
• Not have a fear of heights
• Can climb, crawl, bend, and squat repeatedly for the entire workday
• Can sit and stand for extended periods, including standing on extension ladders
• Can lift a minimum of 40 lbs
• Can work outdoors during daylight hours
• Have strong communication skills
