Congratulations! Your Christmas Lighting & Holiday Decor display has been installed!
Residential-Holiday-Home-with-Wire-Frames-www.decoratingelves.comNow it is time to enjoy them throughout the season.

We do our best to protect against potential problems during installation and use various techniques to assist this. However issues do arise. Heavy rain, high winds, moisture, a
nd other related outdoor elements are beyond our control. Here are a few tips that can help keep everything working and looking great. If these tips don’t help, just call us. We will be out within 48hrs.

Sprinklers: To prevent your automatic or timed sprinkler system from soaking your light strands and tripping the GFCI, we recommend that you reset the timer on your sprinkler system so that watering occurs while the holiday lights are off (such as in the early morning).

Timers: Should you experience erratic behavior from your lighting, please check the timer to ensure that it is properly set. Also, remember that the timer must be powered at all times to keep proper synchronization. So please make sure that the timer is not plugged into an outlet connected to a switch that can be inadvertently turned on and off. Disruption of power to the timer will throw it out of sync. Our website has detailed instruction on setting timers at https://www.decoratingelves.com/lighting-timers/

GFCI “Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter” Outlet Trips: A GFCI is installed in most homes as a protection system that shuts down the flow of electricity to an electrical outlet when it senses a ground in the line. When outdoor holiday lights become excessively wet this will often cause the GFCI to trip. Should a GFCI circuit trip, it will need to be reset to restore power to the outlet.

Wait until the rain or sprinkler system has stopped and the light strands have had a chance to dry out before attempting to reset the GFCI. Should you decide to plug your lights into an alternate GFCI protected outlet, please remember that you must still reset the previous circuit to restore the flow of electricity to that outlet.

Note: If you are using a timer, it will need to be reset as well after resetting the GFCI to ensure the lights go on and off at the desired times.

If these tips don’t help, just call us, and we will have a service tech out within 48hrs. If you can get that call in by early morning, it’s possible to have it done that day. Don’t wait until the end of the day Friday.

Planning a Garden Party This Summer? Make the Event Unforgettable with Garden Lighting

DE-2012-HLS-2In Florida, we’re blessed with reliably good weather throughout the summer season. As a result, when it’s a birthday, anniversary or special occasion, many of us will head outdoors to celebrate, making the most of our outdoor spaces.

When planning the perfect outdoor celebration, it’s likely you’ll have a check-list of things to consider, from catering and entertainment to guest-lists and drinks. However, often decoration is something of an after-thought, and it’s amazing how many people don’t think about how to decorate their garden after the sun goes down. Read More
